Big names abound: Tiger, Daly lurking behind Vijay Singh

Singh and Woods struggled to stay in the fairway, but still played well.
GRAND BLANC, Mich. (AP) -- Vijay Singh had a lot of company at the top of the Buick Open's All-Star leaderboard.
The big Fijian shot a 7-under 65 Saturday to take a two-stroke lead over John Daly and a three-shot advantage over Tiger Woods into the final round.
"I think it's more exciting for the fans," Woods said. "As a player, especially at this event, you just have to go out and make birdies."
Woods shot a bogey-free 66, and still lost ground to Singh on one of the easiest courses on the PGA Tour.
Woods was three shots back along with Carlos Franco (67), and Daniel Chopra (66) was another stroke back.
Singh and Daly -- who also had a 66 -- will be in the final group, just behind Woods and Franco.
"I was nervous about playing with Vijay," said Franco, coming off a victory last week in Milwaukee. "Then I looked at the leaderboard and saw I would be playing with Tiger. Now, I'm even more nervous."
Strong season
Singh -- at 18 under after adding the 65 to his opening rounds of 63 and 70 -- has won the last six tournaments he has led after 54 holes. Woods has won three events when entering the final round behind by at least three shots.
Both have a chance to become the first to win multiple Buick Open titles in nearly four decades. Woods won at Warwick Hills two years ago, and Singh won in 1997.
This year, Singh has three victories and 10 top-10 finishes.
But since winning consecutive tournaments three months ago, he has just two top-five finishes and was tied for 28th at the U.S. Open and 20th at the British Open.
The Fijian is playing well this week after changing his putter -- and focus.
He went back to a standard putter after using a long one for 2 1/2 years. He also stopped worrying about chasing Woods in the world rankings, as Singh acknowledged he did earlier this year.
Singh and Woods were both wild off the tee, hitting just five fairways each, but it didn't slow them down.
Singh birdied all four par 5s, and three other holes and made some par-saving putts in his bogey-free round. He could've started the final round with a three-shot lead, but missed a 4-foot putt for birdie at 18.
"I'm not worried about [today], I'm looking forward to it and that's a big thing," Singh said. "If I can just go out there and roll the ball like I did, I think I'll take care of business."
Swing problems
Even when Woods left his driver in the bag and grabbed his 3-wood, he still had trouble keeping his tee shots in the fairway, unless as he joked, you count one hole where his drive landed in an adjacent fairway.
He wasn't joking after his tee shot at No. 2 landed in the rough to the left of the fairway.
"I'm blocking again," Woods said to his caddie.
At least a couple other times, he said with a sigh "Tiger" or "Tiger Woods" to himself after hitting errant tee shots.
"It's not a lot of fun when you miss the fairway with your 3-wood," he said.
Woods had three birdies on the front nine, and three more on the back.
Daly has a shot to win two tournaments in one year for the first time, and a victory would shoot him into contention for a spot on the Ryder Cup team.
He won the Buick Invitational six months ago, but hasn't had a top-10 finish since April.
Daly has won five PGA Tour events, including the 1995 British Open and 1991 PGA Championship, and legions of adoring fans.
After his drive at No. 15, a male fan asked Daly for a hug and he went to the ropes and obliged.
