Police charge driver with using pickup truck to hit man at bar

AUSTINTOWN -- A North Turner Road man was in stable condition this morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center with injuries he sustained when he was hit by a pickup truck.
Harry Field, 57, was taken to the hospital by ambulance after he was hit by the truck at about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of Rumors Lounge on state Route 46.
Police said they have arrested Anthony Yeropoli, 29, of South Raccoon Road and charged him with felonious assault. He's accused of hitting Field with his truck.
Reports state that Yeropoli struck Field as he was leaving Rumors after an argument between the two men in the parking lot. One witness told police Field jumped on Yeropoli's hood to try to avoid being hit and then was run over after he fell off; another witness said Fields flipped onto Yeropoli's hood and windshield when he was hit.
Reports state Yeropoli sped to Mahoning Avenue and then to the intersection of Burkey and South Raccoon roads, where he was stopped by police.
Yeropoli told police that Field was trying to start a fight with him when he got into his pickup truck in the Rumors parking lot.
As Yeropoli started to drive away, Field jumped on his hood and tried to punch him through his driver's side window, Yeropoli said. He told police he drove away in fear after Field fell off his car.
