WEST BRANCH
School board action
West Branch Board of Education handled these matters at their Tuesday meeting:
Hired Amy Griffith of Damascus to teach kindergarten at Goshen Center Elementary School. Her salary is the district's base for the 2004-05 school year, $26,437.
Named high school teachers Glenda Sharp and Christy Biery as co-advisers of the yearbook at a stipend of $1,493.50 each.
Named staff member Robert Barnett and Leanne Williams of Salem to share the position of high school instrumental music instructors. Barnett, who has had the position for several years, will receive $2,842 because the board's contract with the West Branch Education Association calls for an extra percentage of the base salary for any supplemental contract held more than five years. Williams will receive $2,049.
Hired Jeff Martig of Beloit as an assistant football coach at a salary of $3,622.
Named Stephanie Wilson, a student at Mount Union College, as middle school volleyball coach at a salary of $2,115. Linda Catania of Beloit, who also receives an extra percentage for having the position at least five years, was hired as assistant cross-country coach at a salary of $1,322.
Named Stacey Doolan of Beloit as named freshman cheerleading coach at a salary of $1,110.50. Middle school teacher Jason Brown was given a one-third stipend, $697, as a co-supervisor of the weight room. Retired teacher Bob McCosky was rehired for the position of faculty manager at a salary of $3,992.
