Water problems

Water problems
NEWTON FALLS -- Residents may soon have an answer to the odd color of their water over the past few weeks. Starting in the first week of July, people have complained about water from their faucets. City Manager David Watson said water customers have been experiencing various shades of brown, probably due to changing amounts of phosphates in the water. "The problem is probably coming from the change in chemicals we did about six months ago. The problem is just starting to show up now," he said. Officials also said they should be conducting a chemical analysis of the water later this week to determine exactly what the problem is. "If a water customer has a problem, we need to know about it," Watson said. Residents are urged to call the water plant at (330) 872-1808 or Watson at (330) 872-0806 with any problems.
