GFS Marketplace opens,offering products in bulk
BOARDMAN -- The new GFS Marketplace store at 7460 South Ave. opened today.
The store is designed for businesses, nonprofit organizations and people who need food for special events. Customers will find a large selection of produce, dairy, grocery, frozen, paper and janitorial products in larger-quantity packages.
The store is open to the public, and there is no membership fee. The store has 25 employees and is managed by Bob Krauss.
GFS Marketplace is a division of Gordon Food Service, a food distributor based in Grand Rapids, Mich. GFS has 109 stores in five states.
Cardinal Health sharesplunge after CFO resigns
COLUMBUS -- Cardinal Health Inc. shares plunged 13 percent Tuesday after the provider of medical supplies and services said its chief financial officer quit and its annual results would be delayed.
Cardinal stock fell $6.47 to close at $44.00 on the New York Stock Exchange. That's down from its 52-week high of $76.54 reached May 6.
CFO Richard Miller resigned Monday, saying it was in the best interest of the company.
Cardinal Health previously disclosed that the Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating how the company classifies revenue from its pharmaceutical distribution business.
