SCHOOLS McDonald board OKs several raises and contracts
McDONALD -- The school board approved small wage increases for several staff members who were rehired for the 2004-05 school year at its Monday night meeting.
Gerald Deyarmin's supplemental contract as the district's transportation supervisor was approved from Aug. 1 to July 31, 2005, at an annual salary of $4,429.
He will continue to do bus maintenance for an average of five hours a week for minor nonsafety-related repairs and cleaning buses.
He will be paid an increased rate of $14.32 an hour.
The board also hired Denise Rubano as new part-time elementary computer teacher for 19.5 hours a week and additional hours as needed for the coming school year.
She will earn $17 an hour, an increase from the $16.60 an hour the post paid last year.
Kathy Sacco will continue as part-time elementary school librarian at $17 an hour for 19.5 hours a week, and additional hours if needed.
She also was given a raise from $16.67 an hour. She started in the position in January to fill a retirement opening.
The board also hired James Kijowski as junior high football coach at a salary of $2,157 a year.
Other supplemental contracts approved, all on a volunteer basis, were: Lisa Friend, majorette adviser; Chad Jones, assistant cross country coach; board member Bob Jones Jr., assistant football coach, and Becky Testa, assistant cross country coach.
