Police make four drug arrests

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Four drug arrests, about $6,000 in cash and several thousand dollars worth of suspected crack cocaine were obtained this weekend in a saturation patrol by the city police, Pennsylvania State Police and Lawrence County Sheriff's office.
New Castle Police Chief Tom Sansone said about 25 officers hit hot spots throughout the city Friday night.
In addition to drug arrests, police also gave out three traffic citations, eight written warnings and six nontraffic citations including five underage drinking citations in a bar, he said.
Drug arrests included Donnell L. Johnson, 20, of Buffalo, N.Y., who was found with a small amount of suspected marijuana in Crestview Gardens and Darryl Eric Hill, 21, of Pin Oak Drive, who was found with eight individually wrapped suspected crack cocaine rocks.
Sansone said some of the rocks were large and had not been cut to be distributed.
A third person arrested by city police, Wesley Cox, 22, of Smithfield Street, had a small amount of suspected marijuana and $5,145 cash in his pocket, police said. All three were charged with drug possession.
A fourth person was arrested by state police, but the details were not available this morning.
