Olivers mark 50thanniversary at reception

XPOLAND -- Mr. and Mrs. Dale Oliver of Springfield Road, were honored June 26 at an outdoor reception at Calvary United Methodist Church in North Lima on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the celebration were the couple's children and their spouses, Atty. Kevin and Wendy Oliver of St. Louis, Julie Johnson of Salem, and Joyce and Dr. Ronald Rogers of Petersburg, and their eight grandchildren.
They plan to further observe the occasion with a trip to Yellowstone National Park in the fall.
Mr. Oliver and the former Betty Best were married June 26, 1954, at St. Paul's Evangelical Reformed Church in Marietta.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired in 1984 from Republic Steel Corp. in Youngstown, where he was a supervisor in production planning. He serves as treasurer for the South Range Council of Churches.
His wife was a self-employed dog groomer prior to retiring and is a member of the South Range Council of Churches.
The couple belong to Calvary United Methodist Church.
