LAS VEGAS Youngstown native to perform at festival
The music festival serves as a showcase for artists from throughout the world.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Singer-songwriter Karla Agee-Seldon, a native of Youngstown, has been invited to perform at 4:15 p.m. Monday at the New York International Music Festival in Las Vegas.
The event runs through Tuesday at the Brenden Theater in the Palms Resort.
Agee-Seldon, who has performed locally, nationally and internationally, is former lead vocalist for such bands as The Karla Starr Showcase band, The Vegas Band, Total Package, The Gospel Crusaders, Unity and Motor City Magic.
She has performed in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Europe promoting her indie labeled CD & quot;For Love Sake. & quot;
Agee-Seldon started out singing in churches at age 6 in the Youngstown-Warren area, and recently returned home after a four-month entertainment contract with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
Latest project
She is in the process of working on a new solo project, & quot;To Be Loved, & quot; with co-writer and producer Billy Beck of the Ohio Players, Ricky Ward of Arrested Development and Pieces of A Dream and co-producer Jodie Daniels.
Agee-Seldon has been the writer and opening act for such performers as the international "Star Search" winner Josephine Banig Roberto and has been a studio backup vocalist for several recording artists.
The New York International Music Festival showcases signed and unsigned artists from all over the world, giving them a chance to perform before music industry executives, music journalists, talent scouts, casting agents and filmmakers.
Live performances as well as the latest films from The New York International Independent Film and Video Festival will take place.
The competitors are chosen by a team of industry professionals. Winning acts will be offered various opportunities in the music industry, including the opportunity for three lucky winners to tour Sydney and London in 2005.
