XBOARDMAN -- Katina Gilbert and James Hetrick, both of Austintown, were married by the Rev. James Ray at 3:30 p.m. July 4 at St. James Meeting House at Boardman Township Park and later were honored during a reception at the Brentford House in Hubbard.
The bride is a daughter of Susan Gilbert of Lowellville and John Gilbert Sr. of Campbell. Parents of the groom are Jim and Roseann Hetrick of Bessemer, Pa.
The bride wore a strapless gown of white satin styled with an A-line overlay with accents of embroidery and crystal beading.
Nicole Burdette, Poland, was honor attendant. She wore a red dress, as did the bridesmaids, Angela Vitullo, Austintown; Tiffany Davison, Youngstown; and Wendy Maraffi, Slippery Rock, Pa., the groom's sister. Flower girl was Sara McDowell, Youngstown, the bride's cousin, and Annmarie Ginnis, Poland.
Geoffrey DeMay, Greenville, Pa., was best man. Groomsmen were John Jr. and Giovan Gilbert, both of Youngstown, the bride's brothers, and Ron Maraffi, Slippery Rock, the groom's brother-in-law. Ring bearers were Ryan and Kyle Maraffi, Slippery Rock, his nephews.
The bride is a case worker with Daybreak in Youngstown. She earned a bachelor's degree in social work at Youngstown State University. A graduate of ITT Technical Institute in Youngstown with an associate in electronic engineering technology, the groom is a software developer with CSE Test Center, Warren. He served from 1991-97 in the Pennsylvania National Guard.
