FUND-RAISER
A community Vacation Bible School sponsored by Catholic, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist and Christian churches in Hubbard had a daily attendance of 105 students and raised $600 for the local Special Olympics team through the Fairhaven School in Niles. The weeklong school finished July 16 and was run by 40 volunteers from the six churches, including several teens who were group guides. The Bible School had a "Son Games 2004" theme and had Olympics-themed events. Earlier in the summer, the churches passed an Olympic torch to one of the six churches weekly at Sunday services. The churches take turns hosting the Bible School. Grace Lutheran Church was this year's site.
