NOTEBOOK | Indians

Moves: Cleveland purchased the contract of right-hander Chad Durbin from Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday and optioned left-hander Jeriome Robertson to the International League team. Durbin began the season with the Indians and went 3-4 with a 10.70 ERA in 10 outings, including two starts. The 26-year-old was sent to Buffalo on May 29. In nine starts for the Bisons, he had a 3-3 record and 3.46 ERA. Robertson, acquired from the Houston Astros for two minor league outfielders in a trade just before the season began, is going to Buffalo for the third time this year. In two stints in Cleveland this season, he had a 12.21 ERA in eight relief appearances.
Setback: Left-hander Jason Stanford may have suffered another setback. Stanford, sidelined since April 16 with a strained forearm, complained of a sore elbow after pitching in a simulated game on Monday. He is scheduled to pitch two innings tonight for the Scrappers.
Ludwick update: Ryan Ludwick is hitting .317 at Triple-A Buffalo on a rehab assignment, but Indians manager Eric Wedge said the outfielder needs more work. "He's swinging the bat well and making progress, but still has limitations," Wedge said. "We want to build up his endurance and make sure he can play in the field with breaking down." Ludwick hurt his left knee in a collision at first base in September and had two operations to repair cartilage damage in the off-season.
Aaron Boone: Infielder Aaron Boone is scheduled to be in Cleveland today to continue his rehab from knee surgery. Boone, who signed a two-year free agent contract with the Indians last month, hasn't played this season after tearing knee ligaments during the winter. He will be sent out on a minor league rehab assignment sometime in August. The Indians can not activate Boone from the 60-day disabled list until Aug. 25.
