During struggle over $5 debt, a bullet hits bed in room below



FARRELL, Pa. -- Police said a struggle over a $5 debt led to gunfire in a boarding house at 1010 Darr Ave. around 2 a.m. today.
A tenant, Tommie Hancock, 40, said two men came to his room around 2 a.m. demanding $5 that he had borrowed from a female tenant in the building.
When Hancock said he didn't have the money, one of the men pulled out a handgun, and hancock said he grappled with the gunman.
During the struggle, the gun discharged, sending a bullet through the floor and into a bed in the room below. There were two people in the bedroom but no one was hit, police said.
Hancock said the second assailant then struck him in the forehead with another gun and the two assailants fled.
Police said Hancock was treated at Sharon Regional Health System for a cut forehead.
