BIG 33 GAME Pennsylvania seeks revenge for last year's rout

Miles Williams of Fitch and Howland's Tony Davis will suit up for the Buckeyes.
HERSHEY, Pa. (AP) -- A 31-point loss to Ohio in last year's Big 33 football game was not the fault of this year's Pennsylvania all-star team, but the Pennsylvania players have taken it personally just the same.
"I heard about it and watched a little bit of the game on TV," said Reading High School graduate James Bryant about Pennsylvania's 38-7 loss to Ohio last year.
"It's not going to happen again," he said.
Bryant, a University of Miami (Florida) recruit who has already worked out at five positions for Pennsylvania, will get his chance to back up his claim Saturday night, when Pennsylvania and Ohio will meet in the 47th Big 33 game at Hersheypark Stadium. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m.
Miles Williams of Austintown Fitch and Tony Davis of Howland are members of the Ohio team.
Bryant, an Associated Press first-team Class AAAA linebacker last season, will see action at his favored position but has also worked out at safety, fullback, tailback and flanker.
Wants to return kicks
Even that's not enough for Bryant, who has been badgering Pennsylvania coach George Chaump of Harrisburg to return kicks.
"I think I can take it to the house a couple of times," Bryant said. "I had a couple of punt returns and kickoff returns last season, but to go up against these [Ohio] guys with their speed and talent, it might be a whole lot different."
Chaump has not committed Bryant to returns, but he has vowed to use him at several different positions.
"Look at him, he's big, strong and powerful," said Chaump of Bryant. "What's his strength? What isn't his strength?"
That's a question being asked by many about the Pennsylvania team as a whole.
Pennsylvania has two of the nation's most heavily recruited quarterbacks, Wilson High School's Chad Henne (a Michigan recruit) and Penn Hills' Anthony Morelli (Penn Hills). Both were Associated Press all-state quarterbacks last season.
Big linemen
Last year, Pennsylvania's quarterbacks received little protection from an aggressive Ohio defensive front, but Pennsylvania has some well-regarded blockers this year, including Erie McDowell's Kyle Mitchum (Ohio State), Baldwin's Ben Iannacchione (West Virginia) and Harrisburg Bishop McDevitt's Jaimie Thomas.
A knee injury forced the withdrawal of another quality lineman, West Virginia signee Tyree Suber, who attended Glen Mills School.
Besides Bryant, the defense has McKeesport linebacker Dontey Brown (Penn State), Aliquippa defensive back Darrelle Revis (Pittsburgh), Moon defensive lineman A.Q. Shipley (Penn State) and Butler linebacker Tyrell Sales (Penn State).
Ohio's offense includes quarterback Brian Hoyer of Cleveland St. Ignatius (Michigan State) and running back Erik Haw of Columbus Independence (Ohio State).
Ohio coach Doug Pearson said that he will rotate three quarterbacks, likely starting Hoyer but also mixing in Grant Gregory of Athens (Indiana University) and Anthony Turner of Chaminade Julienne (Bowling Green).
Ohio tight end Mike Massey, a Michigan recruit who also attended St. Ignatius, is the third brother to play in the Big 33 game, believed to be a first. His brother Jim played in 1996 and brother Pat in 2001.
