TELEVISION Q & amp;A

Q. We are long-time "Jeopardy!" fans but are wondering whose bright idea it was to keep the champion on as long as he or she is winning. It is becoming redundant, predictable and quite suspicious. -- B.R.G., San Martin, Calif.
A. The "Jeopardy!" rules allowing a winner to keep coming back until defeated took effect just this season, the game show's 20th season.
Q. My husband and I are big fans of Jerry Orbach. We were looking forward to seeing him in "Trial by Jury" until we found out he had been replaced by Dennis Farina. What happened? -- C. & amp;J.C., Monterey, Calif.
A. Farina is Jerry Orbach's replacement on "Law & amp; Order," not the new "Law & amp; Order: Trial by Jury." Farina will join "Law & amp; Order" as Det. Joe Fontana when the show returns in the fall. Orbach's character, Det. Lenny Briscoe, will be seen on the new "Law & amp; Order" franchise, "Trial by Jury," which is expected to debut next year. Also in talks to appear on "Trial By Jury" are "Frasier's" John Mahoney, former "L & amp;O" regular Carey Lowell and Candice Bergen.
Q. Several years back, HBO aired a special named "John Leguizamo's Freak." I have been wanting to purchase it. Where can I find this, or is it even for sale? -- T., via e-mail
A. John Leguizamo's Tony-nominated Broadway show "Freak" premiered on HBO in 1998, but the Spike Lee-directed special is not available on DVD or VHS. But you're in luck; it is repeating next month on HBO Latino -- in English. Play dates are Aug. 12, 14 and 19, so set your recording device.
