Charges lead to arrest in Myrtle Beach

YOUNGSTOWN -- An Austintown man has been arrested at a Myrtle Beach, S.C., motel on a warrant charging him with rape, gross sexual imposition and exhibiting obscene or harmful content to a juvenile.
David Bagnoli, 38, of Callaway Circle, was arrested Wednesday evening by the U.S. Marshal's fugitive unit in South Carolina based on a June 24 Mahoning County grand jury indictment that charged him with committing these offenses against a 6-year-old girl in Mahoning County in February.
He left the area while awaiting further action on those charges.
Bagnoli is in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Conway, S.C., awaiting extradition to Youngstown, said Dean Michael, coordinator of the U.S. Marshal's fugitive task force in Youngstown. That task force, the FBI violent crimes task force and Struthers police worked on the apprehension, he said.
"This case exemplifies why you maintain task forces like this. These task forces afford you the ability to reach out long distances" to apprehend people charged with serious crimes, he added.
