Woman will be extradited in abduction case

YOUNGSTOWN -- A Mahoning County woman will be taken to Cuyahoga County, where she faces criminal charges stemming from the apparent abduction of a baby last week.
Latricia Bythler, 25, whose address is listed as Baker Street, Austintown, waived extradition to Cuyahoga County during a hearing Monday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court. Judge Jack Durkin ordered Bythler held in the county jail until Cuyahoga County authorities pick her up. Bythler was arrested last week in Youngstown on suspicion that she had taken a 5-month-old girl from her home in Cleveland.
The baby's mother, Malaica Lusane, initially thought her cousin's girlfriend had taken the baby to visit relatives. When the woman didn't return by 9 p.m. as promised, Lusane called friends and family. She learned the relative the woman was supposedly visiting wasn't even home, and she called police. An Amber Alert was issued at 5 a.m. Wednesday.
Bythler and the baby were found in Youngstown that evening. The little girl was returned unharmed to her mother.
