Two who pleaded guilty in pot farm case are sentenced

YOUNGSTOWN -- Two men who pleaded guilty in April to their part in a marijuana farm that had been located in a downtown warehouse were sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Akron.
U.S. District Judge James S. Gwin sentenced Joseph C. Pedaline, 51, of 585 Early Road, to 41/2 years in prison, followed by three years' supervised release. Pedaline will turn himself in to U.S. marshals on Aug. 9 to begin serving his time.
Shane Wagner, 30, of Lora Avenue, received 11/2 years in prison, followed by three years' supervised release. He too will turn himself in on Aug. 9.
All six defendants were charged with conspiracy to cultivate with intent to distribute marijuana and cultivating marijuana (in excess of 1,000 plants). Four defendants remain to be sentenced.
An unidentified cooperating defendant told the Drug Enforcement Administration that Pedaline "orchestrated activities at the grow site, to include instructions regarding care of the marijuana plants as well as payments to [his] associates who tended and/or worked at the marijuana cultivation site at 814 Marshall St."
Pedaline owns the warehouse and, until last summer, was former co-owner of the B & amp;O Station Restaurant.
