YOUNGSTOWN -- Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, 252 E. Wood St., will have a Novena to St. Therese of the Child Jesus titled "The Little Flower" at 5:30 p.m. each Thursday for nine weeks beginning Aug. 5. Rosary recitation begins at 5:15 p.m.
Flame Fellowship
BOARDMAN -- The Flame Fellowship guest speaker this month will be Gladys Bollinger, at a buffet luncheon at 11 a.m. Monday in the Georgeanna A. Parker Activity Center in Boardman Township Park. Reception for pastor
YOUNGSTOWN -- Richard Brown Memorial United Methodist Church, 1205 Elm St. at Woodbine Avenue, will host a service and reception at 3 p.m., Sunday for its pastor, the Rev. Patricia Christ, who was ordained an elder in The United Methodist Church at the East Ohio Annual Conference held in Lakeside, Ohio, the week of June 22-25. The Rev. Gospel festival
WARREN -- Gospel Fest 2004, sponsored by the Community Family Outreach Center, 2165 Highland Ave., will be July 30 to Aug. 1 at the Youth Center. There will be a quartet and jazz at 6 p.m. July 30; holy hip-hop and contemporary gospel at 6 p.m. July 31; and traditional gospel, choirs and a solo artist at 4 p.m. Aug. 1. Youth crusade planned
LIBERTY -- The Second Annual Youth Crusade, sponsored by Sisters in Christ Bible Group, will begin at 2 p.m. next Saturday at Church Hill Park, off Belmont Avenue in Liberty Township. Guest preacher will be the Rev. Kenneth Paramore of the United Baptist Church of Akron. The Rev. James Bowie of Union Baptist Church will be minister of the ceremony. There will be no charge. Refreshments will be served.
Community outreach
YOUNGSTOWN -- Mount Vernon Baptist Church Mission Ministry, 2944 Wardle Ave., will have community outreach from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 31 at the church. There will be music and food. No charge.
Weekend revival
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. Berna Brown of Saginaw, Mich., will be ministering at a weekend revival at First Calvary Baptist Church, 126 E. Wood and Walnut streets at 7 p.m. Friday through July 25.

Pig roast and Elvis
