MICKEY MANTLE TOURNAMENT Andy's 9ers sweep pair to capture Ohio crown

STRUTHERS -- Andy's 9ers won twice on Friday to win the 12th annual Ohio State Mickey Mantle Tournament at Cene Park.
Andy's defeated Joe Koch Construction/Line Drive Academy 11-2, then bested Wolf Contracting 8-1 in the championship game.
Will Hogan started and won both games.
In the opener, Hogan allowed a two-out single to Ryan Satterlee in the bottom of the fifth inning as he allowed no earned runs with five strikeouts.
In the second game, he tossed four scoreless innings, allowing just three singles. Brett McCann picked up the save with his three innings of relief work.
In the first game, a seven-run first inning set the tone for Andy's.
Key hits
Robert Maddox hit a bases-loaded triple to bring in the first three runs. John Turk had three runs batted in and two hits. Rudy Nadbath added two singles.
The second game saw Andy's score four times in the second inning.
After a error led to the game's first run, a single by Nadbath brought in another. Mike Weibley hit a two-run double.
Anson Hall had three hits including a triple while Weibley finished with three runs batted in. Ryan Morris had a single and drove in the lone Wolf run.
All three teams -- Andy's 9ers, Joe Koch Construction/Line Drive Academy and Wolf Contracting -- along with Wayne County will advance to the regional tournament that begins July 26 in Amelia.
