XBOARDMAN -- Megan Marie Getchey, 1316 Meadow Lane, Poland, and Michael James Daley, 6352 Tara Court, Poland, were married by the Rev. John A. Fata at 1:30 p.m. June 26 at St. Luke Church. A reception was held at The Embassy in Youngstown to honor the daughter of John and Kathy Getchey of the Meadow Lane address, and son of John and Carol Daley, 1123 Runge Blvd., Struthers.
The couple honeymooned at Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and live at the groom's address.
The bride's strapless, A-line gown of white Italian satin was embellished with rose embroidery and pearls and featured a detachable cathedral train.
Lilac gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Jennifer Nigh, and the bridesmaids, Melissa Daley, Kristin Getchey, Deanna Canter, Nicole Mancini and Lauren Jackson. Flower girls were Natalie and Rachel Babinec.
David Lorenz was best man, and groomsmen were Thomas J. Daley, John Getchey, Michael Dobos, Matt Gugliotti and Jim Van Hise. Ring bearer was Patrick Carden.
The bride holds a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Bowling Green State University and is pursuing a master's in school counseling at Westminster College. She is a second-grade teacher with Liberty schools. The groom, a high-school English teacher with Poland schools, graduated from Walsh University with a bachelor's in English education and is pursuing a master's in education administration at Youngstown State University.
