June Stas elected president of auxiliary

TOLEDO -- June C. Stas of Austintown was elected and installed as president of the Department of Ohio American Legion Auxiliary at the organization's state convention June 27 in Toledo.
Stas is a member of Austintown Memorial Unit 301 and has held many offices and chairmanships at the unit, district and Department of Ohio level. She is on the Buckeye Girls State Staff, and is secretary of Mahoning County Council of the American Legion Auxiliary, and also served as district president for two years. She has attended national, department and district conventions as a delegate.
She is a partner of Mahoning County Salon 336 of the Eight and Forty and serves as its premier, and she is church council president for First Federated Church in North Jackson. She is a former Austintown Township Trustee.
Stas is the widow of John S. Stas, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. She has one daughter and three grandchildren.
