Giants player, coach ejected

DENVER (AP) -- San Francisco Giants catcher A.J. Pierzynski and first base coach Luis Pujols were ejected in the fifth inning against the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night after arguing a checked swing.
Pierzynski, who led off the inning, went to first base after plate umpire Phil Cuzzi ruled a pitch by Aaron Cook hit him on his back foot. Rockies manager Clint Hurdle argued that Pierzynski swung at the pitch and asked Cuzzi to check with third base umpire Brian O'Nora.
O'Nora ruled that Pierzynski did swing for strike three, and he responded by throwing his batting gloves in the air at first base. Pierzynski then got into an argument with first base umpire Lance Barksdale and was ejected.
Pujols started arguing with Barksdale as Pierzynski left the field and was ejected a few seconds later. Giants manager Felipe Alou ran onto the field and held Pujols back before he headed to the dugout.
Pierzynski was replaced by Yorvit Torrealba, and Joe Lefebvre took Pujols' spot at first base.
