Springfield Twp. police arrest 2 men in separate criminal cases
NEW SPRINGFIELD -- Investigations by Springfield Township police and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation led to the arrest of two men suspected of car break-ins and a house burglary.
Springfield Patrolman Ray Fellows said Thomas Trolio, 26, of East Western Reserve Road, Poland, is charged with criminal trespass, criminal damaging and attempted auto theft. Fellows said he and BCI Special Agent Ed Carlini collected fingerprints found in a car at Gobel's Towing and Auto Body on Western Reserve Road. The prints turned out to be Trolio's, Fellows said.
Gobel's, near Trolio's neighborhood, had at least eight or nine cars broken into, Fellows said.
Trolio was arraigned Wednesday in Struthers Municipal Court, where bond was set at $4,500, Fellows said. Trolio, who waived his right to a speedy trial, will not be back in court until Jan. 10, 2005, Fellows said.
In the second case, John Ericson, 25, of Melbourne Avenue, Boardman was charged with burglary and theft, Fellows said. Ericson is accused of breaking into a house in the 9200 block of North Lima Road in January.
At arraignment Wednesday in Struthers Municipal Court, Ericson's bond was set at $12,500. A preliminary hearing was set for Monday.
