NOTEBOOK Scrappers

Is he done yet? The Jamestown Jammers will be glad to be through with Scrapper Chris Gimenez for a while. Tuesday, Gimenez homered twice in Jamestown and Thursday he hit a homer 370 feet to the right-field bullpen for a 2-0 lead. Gimenez added a single, a double and scored four runs. He leads the New York-Penn League with six homers -- five against the Jammers. "He's had a great 4-5 days," manager Mike Sarbaugh said. "He's done a great job for us all year."

Collectors items: Ever wonder what happens to the baseball bats that break during a game? On July 20 the Scrappers will start selling autographed, game-used broken bats in the souvenir stand at Eastwood Field. The proceeds will benefit the NYPL Charitable Foundation. The bats will go for $10.
