MICKEY MANTLE TOURNAMENT Wolf pins first defeat on Koch Construction
Wolf Contracting advanced to the championship game.
STRUTHERS -- Wolf Contracting scored six times in the fifth inning and went on to knock off previously undefeated Koch Construction/Line Drive 12-10 in the Mickey Mantle state tournament Thursday at Cene Park.
Josh Harkulich went 4-for-4 with four RBIs for Wolf, while Kyle Rupp and Joe Burnich added two hits each.
Mark Cartwright went the first five innings for the win, while Josh Fyffe tossed the final two innings for the save. Ryan Satterlee and Eddie Rohan had two hits each and Rohan had four RBIs for Koch/Line Drive.
With its win over Koch/Line Drive, Wolf advanced to the championship game. Andy's 9ers and Koch/Line Drive were scheduled to play at 11 a.m., with the winner to face Wolf at 1:30 p.m. for the championship.
All three teams, along with Wayne County, advanced to the regional in Amelia July 26-28.

Jarryd Summers tossed a complete game with eight strikeouts, while Josh Fyfe had three hits as Wolf eliminated the Tigers.
Dan Moran, Kyle Rupp, Joe Burnich, Josh Harklich and Sam Barker had two hits each for Wolf. Sam Wade had four hits for Massillon.
Koch/Line Drive 7, Andy's 9ers 2
Koch/Line Drive scored five times in the top of the seventh inning to break a 2-2 tie as it defeated Andy's in a battle of the two undefeated teams.
Eddie Rohan drove home the go-ahead run in the seventh with his fourth hit of the game. D.J. Ronci had a single and double and two RBIs, while Ryan Satterlee added two hits.
Brian Wright struck out seven and allowed just one earned run in the complete game victory.
John Turk hit a pair of doubles for Andy's.
