SANDLOTS Wolf stops Falcons from sweeping twinbill

STRUTHERS -- The Astro Falcons split a doubleheader Wednesday in the Mickey Mantle Tournament at Cene Park, defeating the Mill Creek Bandits 11-0 before losing to Wolf Contracting, 7-2.
The Falcons eliminated the Bandits as Drew Turocy pitched three innings of three-hit, one-run relief for the win. He had four strikeouts.
Joe Bako, Jessie D'Amico, Kyle Smith, Joe Fox and Kolton Hoffman each had two hits for the winners.
John Pitzulo, Mike Rose, Josh Folkwein and John Houser had two hits apiece for the Bandits.
Wolf Contracting 7, Astros 2
Ryan Morris had three hits while Joe Burnich pitched a complete game as Wolf eliminated the Falcons.
Wolf scored five times in the top of the fifth to overcome a 2-0 Astro lead. Burnich allowed just five hits and had seven strikeouts in the win. Matt Weir suffered the loss as he allowed five runs in his 41/3 innings. He had five strikeouts and walked three.
Andy's 9ers 8, Rondinelli Tuxedo 0
The Niners handed Rondinelli its first loss as Ben Danzigor tossed a four-hit shutout. He struck out five.
Robert Maddox hit a three-run home run in the five-run third inning for the winners. Tom Popadak had a double for Rondinelli.
Boys of Summer 2, Rondinelli 0
Chad Rodgers tossed a six-hit shutout as the Boys of Summer knocked out Rondinelli.
Rodgers had 13 strikeouts and walked three.
Lonnie McQueen had two hits for Rondinelli as did losing pitcher Dave Diyorio. Diyorio went four innings and had three strikeouts.
Koch-Line Drive 12, Massillon 4
A three-hit, four RBI performance from Eddie Rohan, along with three hits from David Patrick and four RBIs by Ryan Saterlee, lifted Koch/Line Drive to the win in the winners' bracket.
D.J. Ronci and Mike Keller added two hits each while Calvin Clayton pitched six innings to get the win.
Clayton had four strikeouts and allowed one earned run.
