MERCER COUNTY COURT Sharon man, 33, gets 2-5 years for sex with girl, 15



One woman received probation for assaulting a police officer.
MERCER, Pa. -- A Sharon man will serve two to five years in prison for having sex with a 15-year-old girl.
Judge Francis Fornelli of Mercer County Common Pleas Court sentenced Ronald Swogger, 33, of Florence Street, Wednesday on the charge of statutory sexual assault, a felony.
Court documents say Swogger had sexual intercourse with the girl at a Hermitage address.
As a result of his guilty plea, his probation on an earlier misdemeanor conviction of furnishing alcohol to minors was revoked and he was sentenced to six months to one year incarceration, to be served consecutive to the other term.
Others sentenced
The judge also sentenced or handed out probation to these people:
UBrenda Anderson, 43, of Sharpsville Avenue, Sharon, was placed on two years' probation for resisting arrest, a misdemeanor. Court documents say that on Sept. 4, 2002, she shoved Sgt. Daniel Lesheski of the Sharon Police Department, punched him in the face and grabbed his groin area. The episode occurred at a South Oakland Avenue address in Sharon.
UBrandon Farrand, 28, of Andrews Street, Sharon, was placed on one year's probation for misdemeanor simple assault. He forced a woman to the floor and choked her at a Burrows Road, Shenango Township, address Dec. 17, 2003, according to court documents.
UWilliam Gabriel, 43, of the State Correctional Institute at Camp Hill, was sentenced to 30 days to two years for simple assault, a misdemeanor. The term is to be served concurrent to the one he is already serving. On Sept. 30, 2003, he repeatedly punched another man in the face and kicked him several times at a Clarksville Road, Coolspring Township, residence, court documents say.
UMark King, 38, of North Street, West Middlesex, was sentenced to one to three years in prison for felony criminal trespassing and corruption of a minor, a misdemeanor. On Nov. 1, 2003, he broke into a building near his home and while there, furnished marijuana to a 17-year-old girl.
UClifford Reed, 36, of Shenango Park Road, Transfer, was sentenced to one week to one year in jail for misdemeanor harassment. He was also placed on probation and fined $650 for disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing, both misdemeanors. On Nov. 18, 2003, he kicked in a door and broke into a building on Summit Street, Grove City. On Dec. 11, 2003, he called a woman on a cell phone after being ordered by a court to have no contact with her. He also was ordered to pay $282 in restitution.
UMark Trulson, 27, of Franklin Street, Greenville, was sentenced to six months to one year in jail and four years' probation for theft by unlawful taking, a felony, and theft by unlawful taking, a misdemeanor. He was then paroled and given credit for 208 days already served. In November 2003, he stole a TV/VCR combination, a CD player, $30 cash and a prescription medication, valued at a total $370, from a Delaware Street, Jamestown, residence. He also took a .32-caliber rifle worth $600 from another Delaware Street residence.
