St. Joseph's maternity group sponsors educational health fair

WARREN -- The Maternity and Perinatal Education Unit of St. Joseph Health Center is sponsoring "Summer Splash," a health fair for women and children of all ages, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the hospital, 667 Eastland Ave. S.E.
Doctors, nurses and health-care educators will be on hand to answer questions. There will be tours of the St. Joseph's maternity unit, and city safety forces will also be there with the fire department's "Smoke Trailer," as well as free bike helmets and fingerprinting and DNA sample kits for children.
There also will be free food, entertainment, vendors with information about services and products for women and children, hourly prize drawings and visits by area ambulance companies and the STAT MedEvac helicopter.
Humility of Mary Health Partners departments with displays at the health fair include: audiology, community health, emergency/trauma services, heart and vascular, laboratory, lactation consultants, maternity department, Partners for Women's Health (Drs. James Barber and Rodney Hill) and Women's Care Center.
