Man wanted in attack on parents; father dead
WESTLAKE (AP) -- Police issued an alert Monday for a man suspected of running down and killing his father and hitting his mother in an argument about using the family car.
Police Capt. Guy Turner said detectives were seeking warrants for murder and aggravated vehicular assault against Daniel Jung, 22, of Westlake, in the death of his father, Yong Jung, 68, a chiropractor, and injuries to his mother, Jemma Jung, 61.
She was treated for minor injuries and released after Sunday night's assault.
Turner said the suspect might be headed toward California, where he once attended Stanford University. Police issued a bulletin for the 1995 Nissan Maxima with Ohio license plates AM39HP.
Stanford registrar Roger Printup said Daniel Jung entered the school in fall 2000 and took classes there until fall 2003. Jung is not currently enrolled at Stanford, Printup said.
The suspect ran away from his suburban Cleveland home in 1998 with a "considerable amount" of his father's money, according to Turner, who declined to disclose the amount. No charges were filed.
