Man and woman to appear in court over traffic stop, drugs

CANFIELD -- A Boardman woman and a Canfield man accused by police of having drugs when they were pulled over in a traffic stop are set to appear in Mahoning County Court in Canfield on Wednesday.
Jennifer Weaver, 22, of Hitchcock Road, Boardman, is charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, driving under suspension, failure to stay within marked lanes and drug abuse. Todd Moffie, 27, of Flo Lor Drive, Canfield, is charged with wrongful entrustment of his vehicle and felony drug abuse.
Police said Weaver was driving a car that was speeding on East Main Street at about 2 this morning. Reports state that Weaver also drove over the center line twice and almost hit the curb. Police stopped her car near Manor Hill Drive. Police said Weaver failed a field sobriety test. She told police she and Moffie, who was the passenger in the car, had been drinking at Bill's Place in Austintown, where they both worked.
Police said Moffie told them he owned the car Weaver was driving. He told police he let Weaver drive the car because he thought she was not as drunk as he was.
Reports state that officers then searched Moffie and found seven pills later identified as Percocet in a cellophane wrapper in his pocket.
Moffie and Weaver were taken to the police station. Police searched Weaver's car and found a bottle containing several pills including one that was later identified as Vicodin, reports state.
