2 Youngstown residents face charges in Austintown thefts

AUSTINTOWN -- Police arrested two Youngstown residents accused of stealing from stores in Austintown Plaza on Monday.
Lindsey Hawn, 18, of Oneta Street, is charged with two counts of theft, drug abuse (OxyContin) and possession of dangerous drugs. Kris Lambeth, 31, also of Oneta Street, is charged with two counts of theft.
Police said they were called to the plaza about 2:30 p.m. by a Payless Shoe store employee who said a man had stolen a pair of shoes. The employee told police the man had come into the store with a woman who distracted employees while the man was in the shoe aisles. The employee said that when the man and woman later left the store, she noticed the man had a pair of shoes sticking out of the pocket of his cargo pants. The man and woman got into a car and drove behind the plaza, the employee told police.
About 30 minutes later, the Payless employee told police that the car driven by the man and woman was parked in front of Dot's Clothing in the plaza. Police came to the plaza and stopped the man and woman, later identified as Lambeth and Hawn, as they approached the car.
Officers searched the car and found the shoes that had been reported stolen as well as a second pair of shoes and a purse reported stolen from the Rainbow Store in the plaza. Police said they also searched Hawn's purse and found an OxyContin pill, a Cyclobenzaprine pill and an unidentified pill.
