SANDLOT Metros win 3 AA games



YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown Metros won three baseball games over the weekend in Class AA League action.
At Oakland Field, Youngstown Metros had 11 hits to edge Action Sports, 6-5.
At MacGregor Field in Warren, the Metros defeated Shevies, 13-4, and Bazetta/Cortland Optimist, 21-5.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Jeremy Hedegore had two doubles and scored twice while Ryan Vaughn had three singles and two RBIs for Metros. Greg Mentrek struck out 10 en route to a five-hitter.
Adam Daugherty had two doubles and two RBIs while Matt Kearney had two singles and Josh Faltot one to account for Action's hits.
Metros 13, Shevies 4
WARREN -- Josh Conkey had four singles and Vaughn three singles while Gary Hinkson had a home run and single and George Rohan a double and single.
Conkey and Jeff Hehr, who homered, both knocked in three runs.
For Shevies, T.J. Trevis hit a home run, Dom Angelo had a double and two singles and Nick Pompeo had a double and single.
Metros 21, Bazetta/Cortland 5
WARREN -- Hehr hit for the cycle and finished with seven RBIs in Y-Town's 23-hit attack over five innings.
Winning pitcher Rohan had a triple, double and two singles while Hinkson had a homer and two singles. Dean Palombaro and Sean Weyant each had three singles and Hedegore doubled twice.
For Bazetta/Cortland, Zack Burns, Cedric Turner, Steve Boxler, Nate Persin, Doug Wajda and John Gennock singled.
