MLS ROUNDUP Saturday's games

MetroStars 2, Earthquakes 0
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- John Wolyniec and Amado Guevara scored second-half goals and the MetroStars broke a three-game losing streak with a victory over the San Jose Earthquakes in Major League Soccer.
Goalkeeper Jonny Walker, who allowed 11 goals in his previous three games, got the shutout, although the unlucky Earthquakes had two shots bounce off the post. San Jose has lost three straight.
Both teams played short-handed because players were called to represent the United States in an exhibition game against Poland in Chicago on Sunday.
San Jose was missing forwards Landon Donovan, Brian Mullan and Brian Ching, while the MetroStars were without defender Eddie Pope and midfielder Eddie Gaven.
Wolyniec got the game winner in the 63rd minute when referee Kevin Terry let play continue after Arturo Alvarez fouled Guevara about 30 yards from the goal. Craig Ziadie got the loose ball and found Wolyniec cutting through the penalty box for a shot that beat goalkeeper Pat Onstad.
Guevara scored on a penalty kick in injury time after Mike Magee was fouled.
San Jose nearly tied it in the 77th minute when defender Craig Waibel headed a free kick by Jeff Agoos off the post. Tighe Dombrowski made a sliding attempt to put in the rebound, but Walker smothered his shot.
The first half had little action with the exception of two brief flurries in the final five minutes.
The Earthquakes' Jamil Walker had a close shot bounce off the post after a pass by Alvarez in the 40th minute.
Four minutes later, Magee was stopped on a header in close and Guevara and Wolyniec had shots go over the crossbar right after that.
