MAHONING COUNTY Scrapbook finder seeks Ms. Stauffer, family

LOWELLVILLE -- Village officials are holding a scrapbook, photo album and children's storybooks that belonged to a woman who might have taught in Lowellville Schools decades ago.
According to Rose Stefano, village secretary, a Campbell resident discovered the items in his basement and wants them returned to the rightful owner, Margaret Jean Stauffer, or her family. He said that he believed Stauffer once taught in Lowellville Schools.
Most photos in the album are dated 1937 and 1938.
Some were taken at Kelty's farm in New Middletown and show a little boy wearing a sombrero and riding a spotted pony. He is identified as John Allen Kelty. Other photos taken at the farm show girls identified as Sara Mardis and Jean Gordon.
Most of the photos show children at East Park Playground and Carnegie Avenue in Connellsville, Pa.
Children's names
Children identified in those photos are Dolly Dawson, Ellen Stewart, Elaine Mulleux, Shirley Bowman, Jacqueline and Wilma Jean Hartman, Leonard and Dutch Duke.
A series of photos was also taken in Frogtown, Pa. Adults identified include Army Pvt. Ralph C. Stauffer, Bonnie Lee Davis, Defaine Boyer, Ray Davis, Gladys Davis and Emma Jo Stauffer.
Anyone with information about how to contact any of these individuals or their families should call the village hall between 8 a.m. and noon weekdays: (330) 536-6415.
