XHUBBARD -- A honeymoon to Niagara Falls followed the June 19 wedding of Donald J. Verhest Jr. and his bride, the former Kimberly L. Rodriguez, both of 345 Wheeler St. They exchanged marriage vows during a ceremony at 1 p.m. at St. Patrick Church before the Rev. Tim O'Neil and later were honored during a reception at the VFW Post.
The bride is a daughter of the late Luis and Barbara Rodriguez. Parents of the groom are Don Sr. and Donna Verhest of Woodbine Avenue.
The bride, who was escorted by her son, Gary Workman Jr. of Hubbard, wore a white gown embellished with lace and beads and styled with a Queen Ann neckline and cathedral train.
Benena Rodriguez of Hubbard, the bride's daughter, was honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Edie Sorbs and Shirley Bolen, both of Youngstown, the groom's sisters; Michelle Lesky, Angela Trengase and Megan Leacher, all of Hubbard; and Pam Pustay of Weathersfield. They wore dresses in rainbow colors. Flower girl was Calsi Thompson of Masury.
Dave Pustay Sr. of Weathersfield performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Bill Sorbs and Kevin Bolen, both of Youngstown, the groom's brothers-in-law; Kristopher Workman of Hubbard, the bride's son; Troy Garland of Austintown; Angel Gonzales of Youngstown; and John Huda of Sharon, Pa. Ring bearer was Dave Pustay Jr. of Weathersfield.
Mr. Verhest is employed as a sheer operator at U.S. Can Co.
