AUSTINTOWN COMMUNITY TRACK CLUB USA Championships



Nine members of the Austintown Community Track Club, coached by Ed Wilson, will be competing in the USA Track and Field Region 5 Junior Olympic Championships today and Sunday at Farmington Harrison High School in Farmington Hills, Mich. The group qualified during the USATF Lake Erie Association Junior Olympic Championship held June 26-27 at Independence High School. The regional qualifiers will attempt to advance to the USATF National Junior Olympic Championship July 27-Aug. 1 at the University of Oregon in Eugene.
REGIONAL QUALIFIERS
Jenna Brian (young women's division) -- first place in discus (129-3), second place in shot put (33-8), third place in javelin (63-8). She also will compete in the exhibition hammer throw.
Brook Katzman (young women's division) -- first place in shot put (35-10.25), first place in javelin (74-9), fourth place in discus (98-6).
Mary Dean (intermediate girls division) -- second place in javelin (81-9), third place in shot put (27-6), fourth place in discus (83-6).
Lauren Lotts (intermediate girls division) -- first place in javelin (83-7), second place in shot put (30-11) and discus (99-4).
Alexandra Rathburn (intermediate girls division) -- first place in shot put (36-1) and discus (104-8).
Nick Panezich (young men's division) -- first place in shot put (54-0) and discus (179-0) and second place in javelin (140-7). He also will compete in the exhibition hammer throw at the National Championship. Panezich has competed in four national championships and one world youth championship held in Canada.
Danny Kinsey (young men's division) -- He will compete in the decathlon. He competed in four events in the Lake Erie met: 100 (10.9), high jump (6-2), pole vault (11-0), javelin (187-5). Kinsey has competed in four national championships and one world youth championship held in Canada.
Patrick Woods (young men's division) -- He will compete in the decathlon. He competed in three events in the Lake Erie meet: high jump (6-2), shot put (43-0), javelin (136-10).
