YSU alum, artist to speak at art expo
YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown State University alumnus Christopher Leeper will be the guest artist and speaker at the Tri-County Youth Art Expo on Saturday and Sunday at YSU.
The expo is a forum for K-12 artwork, which will be exhibited in the Bliss Hall Gallery from Saturday to July 28.
The opening reception is set for Saturday, with Leeper, a 1988 YSU graduate, speaking on his quest to become a full-time artist. With a bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design, he has worked for 15 years as a fine artist, illustrator and graphic designer. He now works full time from his studio in Canfield.
Leeper is a member of the adjunct faculty in YSU's art department, is an instructor at the Butler Institute of American Art, and serves as vice president of the Ohio Watercolor Society.

Hubbard Mud Olympicsset at Hubbard Fun Fest
HUBBARD -- Athens, Greece may be the site of the 2004 Summer Olympics, but this Trumbull County city will be host of the Mud Olympics.
Matches in volleyball and tug of war are one feature of Hubbard Fun Fest 2004, which will be in and around the parking lot of Hubbard's municipal building, 220 W. Liberty St. Hours will be from 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Besides Mud Olympics, there will be games, raffles, craft booths, dancers, musical groups, a 5K Fun Run and Walk on Saturday in Harding Park and a parade along West Liberty Street at 6 p.m. Sunday.
