TELEVISION Q & amp;A

Q. Has "Becker" been canceled, or can we expect to see more of this great comedy? We think it is the funniest sitcom ever. The characters are superb. L.F., Roanoke, Va.
A. "Becker" survived for a sixth season after last year's near cancellation, but it's gone for good now. The finale aired in January. However, "Becker" reruns are in syndication, so you can enjoy the old episodes for the time being. Next up for "Becker" star Ted Danson is a role as a Boston lawyer in "Our Fathers," a Showtime movie about the Catholic Church sex-abuse scandal.
Q. I never watched "The Pretender" in prime time, but I really enjoy it on TNT in the mornings. Is it possible to purchase the series on DVD? Are Andrea Parker and Michael T. Weiss on any other shows? S.P., Bellevue, Ky.
A. TNT is your only source for the fantasy series that ended its network run in 2000. "The Pretender" is not available on VHS or DVD in the United States at this time. Weiss had a recurring role on "Crossing Jordan" last month. Parker co-stars on the ABC sitcom "Less Than Perfect," which begins a third season in the fall.
Q. I'm a big "Knight Rider" fan and I heard a long while back that David Hasselhoff was supposed to make a brand new "Knight Rider" with the late Edward Mulhare appearing as a hologram. How true is this? D.M., Cranston, R.I.
A. There may have been interest in such a project at one time but, to date, nothing has materialized. There is good news for "Knight Rider" fans, though. The first season of the series will be released on DVD Aug. 3, with the 1991 "Knight Rider 2000" TV movie to follow. Meanwhile, there's good and bad news regarding Hasselhoff. He's on the big screen in the hit comedy "DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story," but he was charged with driving under the influence last month in Los Angeles.
