2 arraigned after illegal sales
YOUNGSTOWN -- Two men arrested on fireworks charges after a raid at 315 Potomac Ave. on Friday afternoon were arraigned Tuesday in municipal court.
Roy Oliver, 36, of First Street, and Robert Musch, 27, of East Judson Avenue, each face two counts of possession, sale and use of illegal fireworks. Each is free on $5,000 bond. Oliver will be back in court Aug. 6. Musch will be back in court Aug. 11.
Investigators said fireworks were being sold out of Oliver's garage on Potomac, some to kids. Boxes of fireworks were confiscated along with $5,646 in cash.
Fire Capt. Alvin Ware, commander of the arson bureau, said the fireworks were bought at B.J. Alan Fireworks downtown. Ware said he has receipts for thousands of dollars worth of fireworks and waivers the men signed, saying they would take the fireworks out of state.
Ohio sells fireworks that are illegal with the provision they be removed from the state within 48 hours.
