The St. Elizabeth Health Center's Boardman Emergency and Diagnostic Center, at Market Street and McClurg Road, has implemented a policy guaranteeing that patients will see a doctor within 30 minutes, or they will be offered one of two different gift certificates or a donation to a charity will be made in their name. St. Joseph Health Center in Warren, also a member of Humility of Mary Health Partners, implemented a similar 30-minute guarantee in February.
The Northern Ohio Hemophilia Foundation (NOHF) was recognized by the National Hemophilia Foundation for 50 years of service in the bleeding disorders community. In 1954, parents of children with hemophilia created NOHF with the primary focus on the medical and financial needs of families living with hemophilia. Today, the Foundation is a full-service partner agency of the United Way serving 520 families in 24 Northeast Ohio counties and has evolved to also help families deal with the psychological and social ramifications of living with hemophilia and other bleeding disorders.
The Wound Care Centers at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown and St. Joseph Health Center in Warren have been awarded Mentor Center status by Curative Health Services, given to centers that achieve healing outcomes greater than or equal to the national average of 88.7 percent; days to heal less than the national average; and patient satisfaction scores at or above the national average of 93.3 percent. Wound Care Centers provide care to patients suffering from chronic wounds such as those associated with diabetes and circulatory disorders.
Wound Care Centers at St. Elizabeth's and St. Joseph's had healing outcomes of 96.1 percent and St. Joseph's 93 percent, respectively; 28 days to healing, compared to the national average of 35.7 days; and overall patient satisfaction above 93 percent.
Park Vista Retirement Community, Youngstown, has been accredited by the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CCAC) through June 2009. CCAC, a nonprofit organization, is the nation's only accrediting body for aging services continuums.
