SCRAPPERS NOTEBOOK From Eastwood Field

Road Warriors: Today the Scrappers embark on an unusual one-day road trip. The team was scheduled to leave at 11 a.m., bus to Jamestown, N.Y. for a doubleheader, and return late tonight. Action begins against the Jammers at 6:05 p.m.
Change of face: After playing the Doubledays nine of the first 15 games, the Scrappers are looking forward to meeting almost anyone else in baseball. "Especially when you're losing," Scrappers manager Mike Sarbaugh said of meeting the Jammers. He said of the Doubledays: "They have a good hitting ball club and we haven't played well against them." Tim Montgomery also said the Scrappers are looking forward to another opponent. "We're ready for a little break from them. We'll get redemption along the way."
Good addition: Marshall Szabo was signed and the former University of Georgia standout played second base. In the eighth inning the Doubledays threatened. A ground ball was fielded by Chris Gimenez at first base but he was unable to get to the bag. An alert Szabo circled behind him and took the relay for the putout.
Figures: The Scrappers have lost five straight and seven in a row to the Doubledays.
