Actor Brando dies in LA hospital
k MARLON BRANDO, who starred in "Streetcar Named Desire" and "On the Waterfront" and went on to create Don Vito Corleone in "The Godfather," has died. He was 80. Brando died at an undisclosed Los Angeles hospital Thursday, attorney David J. Seeley said today. The cause of death was being withheld.

No clemency for killer,parole board advises
k THE OHIO Parole Board has recommended to Gov. Bob Taft that he deny executive clemency to Stephen A. Vrabel, a death row inmate since October 1995. Vrabel is scheduled to die by lethal injection July 14. Vrabel, 47, killed his girlfriend, Susan Clemente, and their daughter, Lisa Clemente, on March 3, 1989, in Struthers, and stuffed their bodies in the refrigerator. Eight members of the parole board met June 25 and learned that Vrabel did not request and did not want clemency. The report was released last this morning.
