HELPING HANDS: Paramedics with Rural Metro strap down the backboard used for William Gibbs, 7, of Youngstown. He is in stable condition today at St. Elizabeth Health Center after jumping out of a second-floor window at 1022 Fairview Ave. on a dare from his cousin Wednesday afternoon. Patrolman John Ragan found the boy conscious but complaining his stomach hurt after he jumped at 12:27 p.m., and the officer noted there were no visible signs of injury. The boy's mother, Kisha Baineses, told Ragan the Mahoning County Children Services Board gave custody of William to his grandparents, but William was spending the summer with her.
