Salem theater to host2nd Gospel Jubilee
SALEM -- Salem Community Theatre will host the second annual Gospel Jubilee on July 16 at Salem High School.
"Gospel Through the Ages" will feature many styles of gospel music from Civil War era to Southern, American-European and contemporary Christian.
Michael J. Moritz Jr. will direct 60 performers, featuring soloists Cheryl Kekel, Mary Catley, Rozz Chapman, Carla Gipson, Jim Locker, John Herbert and others.

'50s/'60s concertto benefit cat shelter
WARREN -- Cats are People Too! is holding a benefit '50s/'60s Revue on July 10 at the Elks Club, U.S. Route 422.
The show features live performances by Mark Pringle as the Hillbilly Cat in a tribute to the early Elvis; Come Together, a tribute to the Beatles; and Billy Smooth and the House Rockers.
The show starts at 8 p.m. and ends at approximately 10:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12.50 in advance and $15 at the door. They are available at Fritsch Veterinary Clinic, Howland Plaza, Warren; or from Wilma at (330) 372-6134.
Cats are People Too! is a nonprofit, no-kill cat shelter in Trumbull County.
Hoyt art show winnersto be shown at festival
ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. -- Winners of the Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts' annual Juried Art Show will be featured at the Ellwood City Festival at the Trefoil Lodge in Ewing Park from Saturday to Monday. The lodge will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day.
Artists receiving honorable mentions in the show include Bill Hoyt of New Castle; Allen Liebling, Grove City, Pa.; and James O'Malley, Struthers.
