City warns residentsnot to impede plowing
STRUTHERS -- Drivers who fail to move their parked vehicles from the road when heavy snowfall is expected will be ticketed and risk having their vehicles towed.
John P. Sveda, safety-service director, issued the warning Wednesday after police were dispatched Tuesday to several areas in the city where cars needed to be moved before snowplows could clear the streets.
Anyone caught plowing snow into the road also will be prosecuted, Sveda said.
Parked cars were a problem primarily in residential neighborhoods, Sveda said. Snow plowed into the street centered around shopping-center parking lots.
