AIKEN, S.C. -- Soul singer James Brown was arrested Wednesday after he was accused of pushing his wife to the floor during an argument, authorities said.

James Brown's publicist Simone Smalls declined to comment Wednesday.
He's a great performer,Aniston reveals about Pitt
LOS ANGELES -- Jennifer Aniston has revealed something that women all over the world have long suspected: Husband Brad Pitt is hot stuff in bed.
The 34-year-old "Friends" star told Allure magazine that Pitt, 40, is not just a great performer on-screen. When the magazine asked her if they got on well between the sheets, Aniston exclaimed, "Yes!"
The "Along Came Polly" star, who has just filmed her last episode as Rachel in "Friends," is putting her efforts toward having children.
The couple have already built a huge nursery at their $16 million mansion in Beverly Hills, Aniston said.
"We call it The Room. Brad's waited a long time for kids."
The actress turns 35 next month, and said she's thinking of having plastic surgery when she's in her 40s.
"Sure. I'd have a face-lift. Absolutely!" she said. "But there are some women who have gone way too far. Some look like the Grinch."
A Tom-Nicole spat?
LOS ANGELES -- Divorced and apparently still not pals, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman reportedly spatted on the Golden Globes party circuit last weekend. One witness told London's Daily Mirror that Nic "marched up" to Tom and snarled: "Can you please stop sending me those stupid text messages?" Cruise was said to hiss in reply: "Not here, Nicole!"
Kidman's spokeswoman denies this happened. "She doesn't have or use text messaging," her rep told the New York Daily News.
Bloomberg apologizesto diet guru's widow
NEW YORK -- In a bizarre story all of New York is eating up, you should forgive the expression, Mayor Michael Bloomberg has finally, reluctantly, apologized to Robert Atkins' widow for calling the diet guru fat and saying his low-carbohydrate food was "inedible."
According to the New York Daily News, a New York TV reporter committed the uber-no-no of taping Bloomberg's private remarks during an off-the-record lunch with Brooklyn firefighters.
Trying to get down with the blue-collar bunch, Bloomberg is heard saying, "Atkins is dead. I don't believe ... that he dropped dead slipping on a sidewalk. Yeah, right. I actually went to his house out in Southampton for a fund-raiser two years ago. The guy was fat -- big guy -- but heavy. And the food was inedible. I took one appetizer and I had to spit it into my napkin. It was just terrible."
