BOWLING GREEN -- John Reimold, a graduate of Kennedy Catholic High in Hermitage, Pa., is having another successful season as a long-shot shooting specialist with the Bowling Green State University basketball team.
Reimold, a 6-foot-6 junior forward and a transfer from Loyola (Md.) College, leads the Falcons in 3-point goals (36 for 2.8 per game) and is second in scoring (15-point average), as they compiled an 8-9 record, including 4-3 in the Mid-American Conference.
He also leads the team in 3-point goal attempts (79), and is second in 3-point goal percentage (45.6).
Set record last season

Entering this season, Reimold's 84-for-200 last year gave him a 42 percentage to rank No. 2 at the school for players with 50 or more 3-pointers in their career.
Reimold is shooting almost 50 percent from the field this year with 70-for-143 (49), and has made 19-for-26 at the foul line. He also is averaging 4.2 rebounds and has 13 assists, eight steals and four blocks.
Bowling Green's next game is Wednesday at home to Kent State.
Ron Lewis, a 6-4 sophomore forward from Columbus Brookhaven High, is the Falcons' scoring leader with a 17.7-point average.
Loyola standout
Reimold, while a freshman at Loyola in 2000-01, won honors as the 2001 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Year. He averaged 15.6 points to rank No. 5 in the league, and had a 42.7 3-point goal percentage to rank No. 2. He also averaged 5.6 rebounds.
The son of son of John and Mary Reimold of Greenville, Pa., and a 2000 graduate of Kennedy Catholic, Reimold helped the Golden Eagles win four state championships and post a 106-18 record under coach Joe Votino.
As a senior, Reimold averaged 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead Kennedy Catholic to a 30-1 record. He was the Class A-AA Pennsylvania Player of the Year, and made the all-state first team and was the Mercer County Athletic Conference MVP.
