YOUNGSTOWN -- Jeffrey A. Gordon, a Youngstown native and a 1977 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School, was promoted to director of fleet service and winter operations for Northwest Airlines at the Detroit Metro Airport in Detroit, Mich. Gordon has also held positions at Britt Airway and Republic Airlines and is known as an industry expert in winter airport operations. He lives in Canton, Mich.

YOUNGSTOWN -- GBS Computer Solutions on Meridian Road has appointed Steve Mihalich to the position of regional sales manager for Ohio and Pennsylvania. GBS is a developer of software and hardware specifically designed for credit unions. Mihalich has experience helping credit unions to find data-processing solutions.

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Melissa L. Pearce of Poland has been named executive director and chief executive of the Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County, formerly known as the county's Women's Shelter/Rape Crisis Center. Pearce has more than 20 years of management experience in the nonprofit sector. Previously, she was marketing director for the Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries. She is a Grove City College graduate.
