Family honors Varios on anniversary

XLIBERTY -- Mr. and Mrs. Sam Vario of Liberty Township were guests of honor as their 50th wedding anniversary was celebrated during a dinner and family gathering Jan. 9 at the home of a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Mary Jane Vario in Austintown.
Their family includes Mike and Sandra Slimmer of Crowley, Texas; Sam and Kathy Vario of Houston; Vincent and Mary Vario of Tomball, Texas; and nine grandchildren.
Mr. Vario and the former Josephine Perruzzi were married Jan. 9, 1954, at Holy Name Church in Youngstown. They are members of St. Anthony Church in Youngstown.
Mr. Vario retired from U.S. Steel Co. Ohio Works. His wife was employed at Geordan Candy Co. in Youngstown and is a caterer.
The anniversary celebration will be continued during a trip to Texas.
